    Common Problems & Fixes

What are the server IP Addresses? The IP Addresses for the server are as follows, if there is a change then a staff member will tag everyone with the new IP address. Vanilla: minecraft.xershade.ca:25565 (Whitelisted) All The Mods 3 (Lite): minecraft.xershade.ca:25566 Sky Adventures: minecraft.xershade.ca:25569 What java arguments should I use? I personally use the following java arguments, most of them optimize java's trash garbage collector but the only real important one is the last one which extends the amount of time forge will wait before timing you out. The servers all use these settings too so it should fix connection issues. -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -Dsun.rmi.dgc.server.gcInterval=2147483646 -XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions -XX:G1NewSizePercent=20 -XX:G1ReservePercent=20 -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=50 -XX:G1HeapRegionSize=32M -Dfml.readTimeout=90 The pack has mekanism, and my load times are LONG. The mekanism mod has a number of client side particles and sounds that can cause a fair amount of lag on lower spec computers, you can either disable all the client side stuff manually, or download the following config file and place it in the packs config folder on your computer. mekanism.cfg The pack has MineTogether and I can't connect to the servers. I personally find a lot of Minetogether's multioplayer stuff not useful and mostly only use this mod for the chat. My personal config file is below and it pretty much disables everything from the mod except the chat features. The other features, specifically the pregen stuff, seem to cause a ton of connection lag that usually just ends up in the server booting you. minetogether.cfg This post will be updated as questions are posted and are answered. Pack and server specific questions will be posted and answered in their own posts under this one. This topic is meant to be a collection of all the Q&A, and will be locked. Please ask questions by posting a new topic.
  3. So a bit late with this one but wanted to post it anyhow. Recently I have been busy and haven't had much time to do a lot of streaming, and when I did have time I've not been feeling well. All this downtime though has giving me some time to think about what I want to focus the channel's content on and other things. Starting pretty much now I will mostly be focusing on Elder Scrolls Online and ZombieCraft (Vanilla Minecraft) streams and content. I've been feeling a lot better recently since I stopped playing more competitive games and honestly enjoy just sitting down and grinding on an MMO or in Mnecraft. So for the foreseeable future I will be focusing on these two games, though other games will be played from time to time. Stardew will continue when I have time to sit down and do longer streams, as I am not feeling well and can manage about an hour or so right now. As for a schedule for all this I will be attempting to do streams around 7AM (GMT-5) but do to the volatile nature of my work schedule I could either be home much earlier or later then this time. Daily streams will be attempted but I put my health and other things I need to do a head of this, so if I am sick or have other errands or tasks to do then the steam may be delayed and/or cancelled. 4. So not much has been happening with the community in August, but I have been planning out some things to work on in the coming months. The first thing I'd like to talk about is my minecraft content. I am currently taking a break from modded while I focus on working on builds on my vanilla server and ZombieCleo's patreon server. I may squeeze in the odd modded stream or two but vanilla will be my primary focus for now, specifically on Cleo's server. Next is plugin development for minecraft, websites, and other coding related things. I have been working on a couple of simple plugins for minecraft to learn how that works, and actually kind of enjoyed it a bit. I am currently planning a few ideas for data packs, mods and plugins so keep an eye out for that. As for streaming content I have been feeling a bit under the weather so I haven't had the energy to do many streams. That said I am currently enjoying Assassin's Creed, Wind Waker Randomizer, and Ocarina of Time Randomizer so I am thinking that those games, along with the aforementioned minecraft content will be my focus for streaming for the near future. Finally over the next week or so I'll be working on a new section of the website that will allow the members of the community to suggest content that they would like to see put up. This will take a bit of planning, as I would need a way to moderate it, have a voting system, and other little features but it would be doable. Thanks for reading, -XerShade
  5. A quick survey for planned ideas and features that will be worked on in August 2018. For the past few months I have been trying new things and content and have decided that I enjoy myself more when playing sandbox and role playing games more, so I am working on content with that as a focus for the future. I will also do some game and website development content alongside this. I am planning to maybe start doing video content again, though I mostly feel like tutorials and guides for games would be the primary focus for this as I prefer to have a live audience when playing games, especially role playing and sandbox games as the viewer input adds to the world and/or character(s). With that little forward out of the way, I thank you for your time in filling out this quick(ish) little survey. Survey Link: https://goo.gl/forms/ndtEPAJSv01vt0172
  6. I have decided to move the website back to Invision Power Board for a number of reasons, the first of which being that WordPress was simply not providing the functionality I needed out of the box. The new website will have forums, pages, and all other kinds of content built in, and stuff that is missing we can easily find or commission over on the Invision Power Board website. Another reason I wanted to switch back to Invision Power Board is the IP.Connect features. Eventually I will want to integrate my game and other coding projects with the website, and I am unfamiliar with WordPress' way of handling this. I do however know how to do it with Invision Power Board, which will make development a lot easier. The other staff and I, mostly I, will be working on porting content and designing new content and themes for the website over the next few days. If you have a suggestion feel free to submit it to the feature tracker, and if you find a bug submit it to the issue tracker. A quick note, both of these are not available at the time of posting this, but they are one of the highest priorities right now so they should appear soon! Thanks for reading, -XerShade
